While relishing a Fruit Yogurt at 5 am on a Tuesday morning at
Since then it has rapidly spread its tentacles through the length and breadth of the country, all throughout maintaining its ambition to grab the hottest property. Just as you find an outlet outside Paris Est, at Berlin Hbf, below the Golden Roof or on
One laudable attribute of this chain is its continual endeavour to blend with the local culture and culinary habits, as is evident from the ingression of the aloo tiki in it’s highly Indianised menu or the accretion of the cafĂ© to it’s eateries across Europe or displaying the traditional wrought iron nameplate at it’s store on Getreidegasse in Salzburg.
On a personal level too, I have had a couple of experiences with this giant which I deem worth mentioning. Staying true to its word of a free drink if your meal is not delivered within a minute, once when the last grain of sand dropped from the hourglass with my order not being ready, I was immediately handed a cup of coke. The eatery also came to my rescue during our night-out at
While waiting in line on that night some 12-13 years ago, I had wondered if it was worth it. In hindsight, it certainly was and much more. It may accrue criticism for its monotony or for being the prime culprit behind an over-sized

go vigi go ruia saala X-(
in austria, it rocked bigtime !!!
chicken burger for 1 euro man ... it was fun to order 7 of them among 4 of us :D
Hmm ... my opinion on McD's is more mixed -- it's great when you are on a budget, or in a hurry, or when the time is odd -- but I still much prefer to try the local cuisine. A bratwurst in Germany is far better than a McChicken!
Also in Mumbai, I am partial to the wadapav :P
I also noticed that you have taken care not to mention the word McDonalds anywhere :).
they even served veggie burgers in suisse :D (i guess the effect of infinite indian honeymoons n holidays!)...
entertaining read! :)
for the fear of copyright issues jade :P
its open 24/7 in hamburg
and in frankfurt too
when u see so cheap food available round the clock in a place like europe which sucks money like anything, u got to be thankful fr it
go M go Mc
Apart from the 1 euro burgers (or is that Burger King? Dunno) its not really that cheap. It's very comparable to the street food you get in my town center.
but most of those shops shut down by 10-30 n open quite late too.
n u can rely on mac to provide palatable food newhere n everywhere whereas one cant be that sure about the local shops.
n about hamburger being the only cheap item, thats the thing i mainly eat when in mac ... a meal in 2 euros ... doesnt happen newhere else
